Hamilton & Burr tour

We were thrilled to be on the first tour of 2022! Karen is a wealth of information, she presents with such enthusiasm. Loved discovering things we’ve probably walked by many times and never noticed. Learned so much, highly recommend and the time went too too fast!

Thank you! It was a pleasure. Hope to see you again. - Karen Q

Awesome Tour!

Karen is one of the best tour guides and historians that I've met. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for the revolutionary war era made the tour so fun and informative. She shared details about local residents, spies, and battles in New York City that our group had not learned before. I'm looking forward to viewing Karen's You Tube channel and seeing her as "Mrs. Q".

Excellent Revolutionary War history tour in NYC

Though I love history and thought I knew quite a lot about revolutionary war history, I learned so much during our walking tour with Karen. She was congenial, knowledgeable and very welcoming. It was very enjoyable and I now have a desire after the tour to read and learn more about that period in New York City's history and the British occupation. Highly recommend her tours.

Revolutionary War walking tour

I am an American history lover and knew a lot of the basic history of this walking tour. We met Karen and I was immediately impressed with her enthusiasm and her warm welcoming greeting to our group. She gave a great background setup of the times and shared dozens of intimate details that aren't in the history books relating to the tour we were about to take. Karen presented a small intimate New York that existed at the time, as we walked the narrow streets her story telling made me feel like we were watching the events play out. Her knowledge of the period is amazing. She truly made Revolutionary New York come alive, thank you.

Hamilton & Burr walking tour

Guide was friendly and very informative about both men and the time in which they were living, the political climate and their personal lives. Definitely learned some great history! Would strongly recommend for anyone who wants to do more than scratch the surface of New York and American history! Has piqued our interest to learn more! Thank you!

Karen Q was our tour guide and we learned volumes!! I don’t think you can find anyone more knowledgeable about US history than Karen. She is fantastic and is a pro. Really enjoyed the tour and I highly recommend.

Revolutionary War Walking Tour

Karen provides an excellent tour experience with exceptional historical viewpoints that give you a sense of belonging and connection to the nation's storied history. From the original commons to Fraunces Tavern - it is a fun and energetic journey the colonial New York. Karen is well researched and provides historical photos as well as relevant paper clippings of the day to give you a sense of what it felt like to be part of a particular moment in world history. If nothing else, the tour is keeping history alive, and that within itself makes the experience worth it! Bravo!

Thank you!

Hamilton and Burr Tour

As fans of American History and of course the Hamilton Play, we wanted to learn as much as we could about the Revolutionary War time period. We have done a few self-guided tours exploring the amazing history the NYC has to offer (but never promotes) and we wanted more. Last year we found Mrs. Q and checked out her YouTube page and found some really great information. While researching all of these things we learned that Mrs. Q also does Tours in NYC, so we had to give it a shot. The tour was excellent, filled with great stories, facts, and historical details that are truly amazing. Karen is energetic, enthusiastic and has a deep understanding of American History that shows in her presentation and stories. Plus she can answer any question with incredible accuracy and detail. She is prepared with maps, historical artifacts and we had a magical 2.5-hour tour through lower Manhattan. We will be certain to book her again when Trinity & St. Paul's Church opens to the public. There is no substitute for the knowledge and experience that Karen has while exploring this area and time period. Thanks again!

Thank you so very much!

Hamilton and Burr Tour Review

If I had a choice between seeing Hamilton the Musical or taking the Hamilton and Burr Walking Tour performed by Mrs. Q, I would definitely go with Mrs. Q first. If you take her tour, you will be taken back more than 200 years and although many of the buildings from the late 18th century have gone, Mrs. Q will make you believe that you have gone back in time. For Mrs. Q has mastered the art of story telling. Not only has she dedicated years of research with the events of the American Colonial and Revolutionary period in lower Manhattan as well as other areas (Long Island aka Brooklyn, Nassau and Suffolk Counties and the Hudson Valley), she has written an excellent book on the daughter of Aaron Burr, Theodosia.

She will greet you at the meeting place with a warm smile and is truly excited that you are joining her. As we begin our journey commencing at City Hall, her enthusiasm is clearly demonstrated. She loves what she'e doing. If a particular building is no longer there, she has a drawing or illustration to enhance her presentation. The pace of the tour is just right and you don't need to stand and walk for the entire tour. She knows where benches are located and it was amazing listening to her while sitting on the steps of Federal Hall, the site at which George Washington took the first presidential oath of office Unlike other tours where the speaker does all the taking, Mrs. Q encourages questions and comments. Mrs. Q not only will tell you about the main "male" characters in revolutionary times, she posses a wealth of knowledge about the women in their lives, something you won't hear about from other tours.

I guarantee that you will have an unforgettable experience. Afterwards, you can see Hamilton the Musical. Thank you, Mrs. Q!

Thank you!!!

Polished and Professional

Engaging tour. Karen is a pro. Enjoyed the experience despite the somewhat chilly morning weather. One suggestion would be to discuss more of the talking points in the comfort of a warm coffee shop! Thanks again for a great educational experience.

PS Ulysses no longer does the carvery option, but rest of the menu was very good.
